Fondata nel 1998 da due artigiani di grande esperienza, Fabio Sieni e Massimo Campaioli, la Scuola per l’Arte della Gioielleria Perseo organizza e gestisce corsi di formazione, specializzazione e aggiornamento su materie e argomenti attinenti l’oreficeria e la gioielleria. L’istituto dispone di un grande laboratorio, un'aula di gemmologia, un’aula per le lezioni di disegno e per le lezioni teoriche. I laboratori sono attrezzati come veri e propri laboratori di produzione, quindi dispongono di tutta l'attrezzatura specifica in quantità sufficiente al lavoro di tutti gli allievi. I corsi della scuola sono tutti improntati a un metodo di insegnamento che punta sin dall’inizio sulle lezioni pratiche. L’idea nasce dal fatto che molti degli artigiani che sono diventati soci di questa istituzione si sono trovati spesso ad affrontare una difficoltà comune: i giovani apprendisti delle loro botteghe, dopo corsi e studi molto tecnici, non avevano nessuna competenza pratica del lavoro di oreficeria o gioielleria. La “full-immersion” pratica degli studenti della scuola Perseo consente di ottenere risultati di ottimo pregio in breve tempo. I corsi sono altamente professionalizzanti e si distinguono per la competenza artigianale e artistica degli insegnanti, tutti artigiani dall’esperienza decennale nel settore. I percorsi formativi prevedono diversi orientamenti: Gioielleria e Oreficeria, Incassatura di Pietre preziose, Lavorazione delle Cere, Incisione, Traforo Fiorentino, Gemmologia e Disegno. Alla base di tutti i corsi c’è sempre l’attenzione iniziale al disegno e alla progettazione, considerati, a ragione, il nucleo principale di ogni creazione artistica e artigianale. Un’altra materia considerata fondamentale dagli artigiani artisti che insegnano alla Perseo è la Gemmologia: il corso di Incassatura, infatti, non può essere portato a termine se non vengono poste le necessarie basi per la conoscenza delle pietre preziose. La scuola non è solo un istituto di insegnamento ma promuove anche iniziative volte a valorizzare l’antico mestiere orafo. La più nota di tali iniziative è il Premio annuale “Perseo”, che offre riconoscimenti ai migliori artigiani orafi di Firenze e agli studenti della scuola stessa. La Toscana ma specialmente Firenze da sempre si identifica come luogo d'arte: patria di artisti ed artigiani che l'hanno resa famosa nel mondo. Ancora oggi ricca di attività di altissimo artigianato. Proprio per una situazione che stava portando quasi alla morte, per mancanza di qualificati Orafi e Gioiellieri, un settore che ha sempre portato il nome di Firenze nella Storia e nel Mondo degli Affari, i Soci del PERSEO hanno messo a disposizione la loro esperienza e conoscenza della materia, per ridare lustro ad una tradizione secolare prettamente Fiorentina. La scuola è diventata un punto di riferimento per tutti coloro che si avvicinano al mondo dell'oreficeria con l'intento di farne una professione. Il segreto del nostro successo? Sicuramente Il fatto di insegnare il mestiere più bello del mondo ci aiuta molto, ma ci mettiamo anche del nostro: I nostri collaboratori sono tutti Artigiani Artisti con minimo 20 anni di esperienza nell’alta Gioielleria. Questo ci distingue da tutte le altre Scuole spesso improvvisate. E’ merito dei nostri insegnanti se la Scuola ha ricevuto molti premi e riconoscimenti e non ha mai smesso di crescere in questi anni. Siamo ben conosciuti nell'ambiente orafo: abbiamo i migliori contatti con tutte le realtà dell'indotto: grossisti di metalli preziosi e pietre preziose, fornitori di semilavorati e attrezzature, professionisti come incastonatori, incisori, gioiellieri. Attiva dal 1998 con i Corsi di: Gioielleria, Oreficeria, Incassatura Pietre Preziose, Lavorazione Cere, Incisione, Traforo Fiorentino e Gemmologia. Al Perseo ogni Docente gestisce al meglio il Corso di sua competenza, dopo averne discusso con il gruppo intero del corpo insegnanti. Tutti gli Allievi si trovano immersi nel lavoro vero e proprio nella nostra scuola improntata sul modo della Bottega Artigiana. La Scuola PERSEO ha percorso passo a passo la difficile strada dell’inserimento tra la scuole professionali, distinguendosi per l’alta professionalità dei propri Insegnanti. Proprio questa sembra essere l’arma vincente di quella idea di partenza che ha fatto riunire un folto gruppo di Artigiani fiorentini con lo scopo preciso di trasmettere ad Allievi di tutto il mondo la bellissima Arte che va sotto il nome di Gioielleria. Sacrificando ore di lavoro e tempo libero, con la passione che contraddistingue tutti gli Artisti, i Soci hanno dato vita ad una Istituzione che finalmente ritrova il gusto di pensare un gioiello ed avere al contempo i mezzi tecnici per realizzarlo. La scuola è situata nel centro storico di Firenze, nei pressi di Piazza Santa Croce, e Palazzo della Signoria. La sua ubicazione, al centro di una rete di negozi e botteghe artigiane, che da sempre rappresentano il cuore pulsante della città, consente allo studente di beneficiare di un’atmosfera particolarmente stimolante e creativa. La scuola ha un grande laboratorio attrezzato con tutti gli strumenti, qui gli studenti hanno accesso ai banchi da lavoro e alle attrezzature, che permettono di realizzare oggetti in tutte le tecniche di specializzazione sempre seguiti dai nostri Insegnanti qualificati. Tutti i percorsi didattici sono pensati e strutturati in modo da garantire a tutti una preparazione adeguata ai loro bisogni, con un alto numero di ore di lezione.

The Professional Jewellery School Perseo, conceived and founded in 1998 by Fabio Sieni and Massimo Campaioli, organises and runs training, specialisationand refresher courses on themes and subjects relating to jewellery and goldsmithery. The school has its premises in Florence, a city that has always been identified with art. The home of artists and craftsmen who have made it famous throughout the world. The teaching method, tested and refined since 1998, allows excellent results to be achieved in relatively short periods. All the courses are designed to guarantee everyone adequate training for their needs, with many hours of lessons, all conducted by well-qualified teachers (craftsmen, artists, designers and professionals). The school is promoter of the Prize annual 'Perseo School'. The only in Italy for jewellery where the Owners are All Artisans-Artist. Born in Florence in 1998, an Association dedicated to the teaching of the Culture of Jewelry. A group of Professionals of this sector decides to found "Perseo" to fill in a large gap left open by public and private schools. Until then, the teaching of the Arts concerning Jewelry and all the activities that form Jewelry was normally confided to persons who were good "managers" of any Vocational School but from the artistic point of view, they had little or no personal experience in working in a jewelry workshop. Therefore, there grew a necessity for those who wished to bring the young in contact with all the expressions that form Jewelry, to recreate a "Bottega Artigiana" (antique workshop) in Florence, which has for centuries been a birthplace of the best traditions of this Art. In this "Bottega" we turn to think of Jewelry as true and personal creations which are thought, designed, and produced by the hands and the head of the persons who know from direct experience working at the workbench, step by step. Respecting the most classical Jewelry, the owners of "Perseo" wish to bring to light to the Students how to acquire, step by step, the techniques to think, design, produce, set stones, and engrave pieces worthy of the best form of Art in the Goldsmithery Sector. Every owner of "Perseo" has been, for a long period of time, one of the best Artist-Artisans in their own specific sector: the experience accumulated during years of Professional work becomes transmitted to Students in the courses with the suitable amount of time to prepare them to become the best future Artisans. Goldsmithery, Stone-Setting, Wax-Casting, Engraving, Jewellery Open Work, Design, Gemmology. This becomes scholastic material, but with the intention of passing the major portion of hours in front of the workbench.

Corso di Gioielleria.
Il Corso di Gioielleria è finalizzato alla realizzazione di pezzi di oreficeria di alta qualità. Pensato e messo in atto dai docenti, il programma comprende diversi modi di pensare alla Gioielleria. Uno, di base, con realizzazioni e composizioni semplici, per portare gli allievi ad usare gli attrezzi ed i vari metalli, ed avere dimestichezza con le pietre e i metalli. Il secondo per apprendere e dare forma alla lastra ed al filo di metallo, per oggetti moderni con elementi mobili e parti realizzate con la tecnica dello sbalzo del metallo. Il terzo è un compendio delle forme più classiche: traforo, stile fiorentino, elementi di costruzione con fili di metallo. Tutte queste nozioni vengono portate a conoscenza degli allievi con lezioni alternate dei docenti, in modo da avere una panoramica completa ed una sicura riuscita dell’apprendimento. All’interno del Corso vengono date anche lezioni di Disegno finalizzato alla Gioielleria e cenni sulla lavorazione delle cere.
Jewellery Course.
This course is directed to the making of high quality objects. The teachers has thought and put into action this course. The course includes different ways of Gold - smithing. The first, begins with basis-teaching the students, with simply made objects-how to get accuainted with the tools and various material, and how to handle the different gems and metals. The second, begins with teaching how to give shapes to the metal plates and wires, and how to make modern objects with mobile elements, and parts made with metal embossement technique. The third, is a more classical teaching, usig techniques like :Open-working (boring), Florentine style and elements constructed with metal wires. All of these notions are brought to sight of the student by rotating lessons between those teachers, in a way that he gets a complete and secure grip of the subject . This course also includes Design lessons and also Wax-working lessons.
Corso di Incassatura Pietre Preziose.
Il corso, messo a punto da due Docenti di lunga esperienza, consente di arrivare, in un tempo relativamente breve, a sperimentare tutti i sistemi di Incassatura più usati in Gioielleria. Iniziando con delle piccole lastre di metallo si danno agli allievi le prime conoscenze dell’uso degli attrezzi e delle pietre .Una volta acquisita la dimestichezza necessaria, si passa a far lavorare gli allievi con forme di Gioielli messe a disposizione dai migliori laboratori di Firenze. La grande quantità e varietà di questi oggetti permette di vedere e ripetere, dal vero, tutti i tipi di Incassatura più comuni, fino ad arrivare ai più complessi. Studiato per allievi che partono da zero nell’Incassatura, il Corso è adatto anche per artigiani che vogliano completare la loro preparazione e per Incassatori che vogliono aggiornarsi sulle tecniche più recenti e raffinate. La sicura riuscita del Corso è garantita dal numero degli allievi assunti in ditte molto importanti o che lavorano in proprio. A completamento della cultura degli allievi, nel Corso annuale, vengono tenute anche lezioni di Gemmologia.
Precious Stone Setting Course.
This course is given by two long experienced teachers, helps - in a relatively brief time - to experiment all stone setting systems most used. Starting with metal plates the students are brought to learn how to use the tools and gems. After that the students are given semi-finished jewels given them by the best Gold-smiths in Florence. The quantity and variety of those objects, helps to see and repeat the most commonly used types of stone setting, reaching in the end those types less used. Although this course is studied for students starting at zero, it is also suited for craftsmen and stone setters who want to borden their knowledge with the newest techniques. The success of this course is garantied by the number of students who have started working with well known firms or alone. During the annual course , gemology lessons are given.
Corso di Incisione.
Il corso per ricavare dal metallo prezioso affascinanti disegni, iscrizioni semplici e particolari. Dopo la preparazione dei bulini gli allievi inizieranno a segnare e le lastre di metallo, preparate su tavolette di legno e cera lacca, con motivi geometrici semplici fino a giungere a disegni floreali sempre più difficili. Il tutto sempre con la guida di veri artigiani incisori da anni nel settore.
Engraving Course.
The courses, to obtain charming designs, simple and particular inscription, from the precious metal, all with the guidance of real craftsmen who have been working in the sector for many years.
Corso di Traforo Fiorentino.
La raffinatezza della gioielleria che da secoli rende famosa nel mondo Firenze, e’ finalmente materia di un corso Scolastico : lo stile Fiorentino del traforo. Disegni semplici ed elaborati, prendono forma sotto le sapienti mani di esperti artigiani. Traforo a nido d’ape, ornato fiorentino, realizzazione di gioielli in stile classico ma sempre estremamente attuali, sono le materie del Corso di Traforo Fiorentino .

Corso di Lavorazione della Cera.
Per ricavare dalla morbida cera le forme più fantasiose da realizzare in metalli preziosi. Modellazione e scavo dei vari tipi di cera (dure, medie, morbide, tubo, lastra, blocco, filo); preparazione di modelli in cera per oreficeria, applicazione di tutte le tecniche più importanti (uso del seghetto per cera, lime, smerigli, frese, saldatura e finitura del pezzo in cera), limatura e lucidatura del pezzo dopo la fusione.
Wax Casting Course.

Modelling of the different types of wax (hard, medium, soft, tube, slab, block); use of the saw, scalpels, files, emery-paper and spirit lamp. Soldering techniques with electric pen, bezel making for stones and settings; polishing of the wax prototype and finishing of the piece and casting with metal fusion.
Corso di Disegno del Gioiello.
L’organizzazione del corso sarà flessibile per tenere conto del diverso livello di preparazione dei partecipanti. Il lavoro sarà organizzato in modo che dopo il primo periodo di frequenza, gli allievi si trovino tutti allo stesso livello di preparazione e producano i primi concreti risultati. Sarà data molta importanza al potenziale immaginifico e creativo di ciascun partecipante per far comprendere quanto sia importante anche la più piccola intuizione nella progettazione della gioielleria. Il Docente del corso appartiene alla Università, settore Belle Arti, ed è creatore di modelli per grandi Aziende Italiane.
